What is Home Care?

Home care (also known as domiciliary care, social care or in-home care) is health care or supportive care provided by a professional providers in the Individuals/Members home where the Individual is living, as opposed to care provided in group accommodations like clinics or nursing homes. Home care includes a variety of nonclinical items that may otherwise be difficult for the client to achieve.

Cleaning Stovetop And Counters

Washing The Individuals/Members Dishes

Cleaning Refrigerator And Stove

Shopping

Preparing A Shopping List

Going To The Store And Purchasing Or Picking Up Items

Picking Up Medication

Storing Items

Laundry

Gathering And Sorting

Loading And Unloading Machines In Residence

Using Public Or Facility Laundromat Machines

Hanging Clothes To Dry

Folding And Putting Away Clothes

Accompanying The Individuals/Members Outside The Home To Support The Individual s/MembersIn Living In The Community

Arranging For Transportation, Not Including Direct Transportation

Accompanying The Individuals/Members To A Clinic, Doctor’s Office, Or Location For Medical Diagnosis Or Treatments

Waiting In The Doctor’s Office Or Clinic With An Individuals/Members If Necessary Due To Client’s Condition Or Distance From Home

Note: For individuals/members to receive benefits they must be Medicare or Medicaid recipient in Texas.
